INFORMATION It was a dark and stormy night at the University of Oregon... or at the very least, it was probably rainy.A student came to the UO from afar, with tales of a Gaming Club at his former alma mater. Realizing that a gaming club would be great fun, and noticing that there was nothing of that sort on our campus, the UOGC was created.

What do we do? We play games, of course. What kind of games? Well, pretty much anything that wouldn't get us thrown in jail or killed. ^_- We seek out fame and fortune from the comfort of our chairs. We pound on each other with padded PVC pipe. We move plastic pieces around on cardboard, trying to reach some arbitrary goal.

We've played board games, trivia, role-playing games, CCGs, party games, and even a few things that are more towards the athletic end, like Capture the Flag. We throw big events to bring in gamers from all over the community.

We also hang out, talk, goof around, and have the kind of fun that normal people do. We just make it more interesting. ^_-

SUBSCRIBE TO OUR MAILING LIST

Probably the single best way to keep up with events and issues as they come up is to subscribe to the Gaming Club mailing list! Gaming Club participants often send E-mail to the mailing list, about anything ranging from impromptu games on-the-fly, to tangential, non-club events. There are two ways to get on the mailing list:

  1. The Easy (but probably somewhat slower) Way: Ask one of our friendly officers to add you onto the list. Said officer will add you on when they get the opportunity to do so.
  2. The Slightly Harder, Much More Direct Way: Send an E-mail to: majordomo@lists.uoregon.edu. The first line of your message should read "subscribe gamelist". You should receive an confirmantion E-mail shortly thereafter.

UNSUBSCRIBING FROM OUR MAILING LIST

If you decide you need to get off the list, you have the same options as for getting on the list:

The first line of your message should read "unsubscribe gamelist". You should receive an confirmantion E-mail shortly thereafter.
