  University offices, staff, and students displaying or wearing the QAC sign--a multicolored logo with QAC written inside--are visible allies of the LGBTQ issues in our community.   The LGBTQA offers referrals and information on issues concerning the LGBTQ students; provide a safe space on campus with lending library, work station, and social hours; and helps to increase the awareness of LGBTQ issues and concerns on campus by sponsoring events throughout the year.   The University Standing Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Concerns monitors the campus climate for LGBT students, faculty, and staff and presents to the university administration issues of concern of the LGBTQ commuity.   Located at 474 Oregon Hall, the Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity is available to assist members of the universty comunity ain seeking to prevent and correct any prohibited discrimination on campus.   334 EMU, the Office of Student Advocacy offers services that help students address issues concerning grade discrimination, employee disputes, and problems with administration. A full-time attorney is on staff and free legal counseling is available for grievances against the university. Phone (541) 346-3722.

  The University Health Center offers HIV testing to students for $12. This fee can be billed to your student account as unspecified laboratory work, or you can pay in cash. To make an appointment, call (541) 346-4441. The Student Health Center also has educational materials about HIV/AIDS and other sexuality issues.

  The University Counseling Center provides confidential counseling to students individually, or in groups, about a variety of life issues. Counseling Center couselors are professionals trained to handle all issues of sexual orientation development, from "coming out" to relationships. Call or stop by the Counseling Center for an intake interview. Those who want a lesbian, gay, or bisexually identified counselor can call ahead and ask the receptionist for the lesbian, gay, or bisexual counselor's schedules before arriving.
