University of Oregon Psychology Major Requirements

Need 40 Total Psychology Credit Hours (includes 32 below) 32 Upper-Division Psychology Credit Hours (includes 16 at UO)

THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED COURSES MUST BE TAKEN GRADED

Level 1

Psy 201, Psy 202 or HC211, HC212

WR 121 and WR122 (or WR 123)

Math 111 or 243 (or equivalent)


Level 2

Psy 302 (or substitute MATH 425, 461, or 462)

and

Psy 303

Substitutions satisfy requirement but do not count as Psy credit.

12 Credits of College Science : Biology, Chemistry or Physics (12 cr. must all be in the same category)
or CH 111, and any two of BI 211, 212, and 213

Note: Students will not get credit for both PSY 469 and PSY 427. PSY 427 does not count as an upper division core course. LING 396 substitutes for PSY 440, but students will not be given psychology major credit for LING 396 if they also take PSY 440.
