The Legal System is a valuable tool in the efforts of the environmental, labor, Environmental Justice, Civil Rights, Public Interest and Human Rights movements.  The legal arena regarding the issues of these movements has developed over the past four decades and has improved in the degree of regulation, as well as in the amount it is used by citizens filing complaints.   Although there are inherent problems and flaws in the legal system, it is an incredibly powerful and workable system nonetheless.
