Friday Night Duties When DJ'ing
- Create a play list for the dance.
- Set-up and take-down the DJ cart.
- Run the music for the beginning lesson.
- Be at Gerlinger by 7:00pm at the latest, and stay until the end of the night after they put away the DJ cart. If this cannot be done for some reason, then find a replacement for the beginning, ending, or entire night.
- Touch base with building supervisor downstairs and make sure that he/she knows when they need to be upstairs to turn down the lights at the beginning of the dance and what time they need to come up and turn the lights back on at the end of the evening. Make sure that he/she knows that if the lesson is running late, they need to stay and wait for the dance to start before turning off the lights and going back downstairs. And make sure that he/she knows to wait for the end of the last song at the end of the night before turning the lights on.
- Give the beginning lesson instructor a 5 and 10 minute warning to keep them from going over time.
- Needs to print out 5 copies of the play list for the evening, three for posting around Gerlinger, and two for records.
- Check the volume of the songs at the beginning of each new song, and stand out in the middle of the floor to check volume levels.
