What is Gamex anyway?
Gamex is the short name for the Gaming Extravaganza, which is organized and held each year by the University of Oregon Gaming Club. (UOGC)

"Extravaganza," eh? What kind of games will you have?
The Gamex promises to have a wide variety of games, so there are plenty of opportunities to participate in role-playing, board games, CCGs, and even a bit of boffer weapon fighting.

When and where is this taking place?
In case you missed it on the front page, we'll be starting at 10:30am on Saturday, May 10, 2003. Our central base of operations will be in the River Rooms of the EMU, on the UO campus. People are free to wander in at any point during the day once the event has started, so don't worry if you can't get there at the stroke of 10:30.

Is this a students-only event?
Answer: NO! While the UOGC is a campus-based group, we wholeheartedly encourage members of the off-campus community to join in both the Gamex and our regular events. (see our main web site for more details on gaming with us during the rest of the year!)

Do I have to pay in order to participate?
No! Our event is going to be completely FREE. We're a non-profit organization, so everyone who wants to play is free to do just that.

How will this event be run?
The Gamex will be divided into four, possibly five, gaming sessions, and some of our games (mainly, the role-playing sessions) will be scheduled for specific times. Some games may last more than one session, most will probably only take one.

Is everything at this event going to be scheduled?
No. While we do need to adhere to some sort of schedule for the role-playing sessions, we'll also have plenty of miscellaneous games available for use at any time.

Are there any opportunities for glory and riches?
Well, we can't promise glory and riches, but we *do* plan on awarding some fun prizes, such as gift certificates from Eugene's best stores for gaming merchandise.

Who should I contact if I need any other info about this event?
Your best bet would be to get in touch with this year's coordinator, Molly Scaison. Feel free to send her a message with any questions or comments.

Is there any way I can help make Gamex better?
Yes! You can help us in two different ways: volunteer to run a game, or help us by advertising the event!

Is there anything else I should know?
There will be more details here on the site as time progresses, so be sure to watch this space for any more information that might pop up.
