   "Marco was the one who knew about mining claims, and he helped me find Ariel MacDonald who had the rights to the claim and lived in Port Orford. He was happy to have someone do the assessment work. In order to maintain a claim one had to do at least $100 worth of work during a 'mining year' including mining, working on trails, etc. I actually helped Ariel on his other mine which was part of South Fork, and learned how to use dynamite. I never did get into that mine- there was just too much stuff caved in on it, among other reasons. I never did see a speck of gold out of that mine." -barry
