IV. Player Eligibility Requirements
C. General Player Eligibility
1. A student athlete shall not be eligible for participation in the ACHA if the
individual received pay for participation in the sport.
2. Student athletes who have played professionally, including Major Junior A hockey,
shall not be eligible for competition in the ACHA.
3. Student athletes shall utilize a year of ACHA eligibility for each year of competition
at a junior college.
5. No Division II player may be added to a team roster after January 31.
6. ACHA student athletes shall be required to sign a player eligibility form at the
beginning of the season.
7. If a player's eligibility is challenged by another team, the ACHA reserves the right to
petition the registrar of the player's university to verify the eligibility of a player.
D. Academic Requirements
1. Division II student athletes shall be degree seeking according to that school's
definition of degree seeking and carry a minimum credit requirement of nine (9)
semester (or the equivalent quarter) hours for undergraduates and six (6) semester
(or the equivalent quarter) for graduates. This translates for the quarter
system as 12 credits for undergraduates and 9 credits for Grad students.
2. A Division II student athlete has five (5) years of ACHA eligibility. If, however, he
was on an NCAA roster at any level, at any time, he is restricted to four (4) years
of ACHA Division II play, minus his time at the NCAA level.
