RULES
The following are policies that players are expected to abide
by, they have been put into place by the University's administration, coaching
staff, league, and conference. These rules are strictly enforced.
Consequences vary from rule to rule but the minimum penalty will include a
period on the bench and the maximum penalty could include elimination from the
team and other consequences to be determined by the school. All
infractions will involve conditioning disciplinary action during the following
weeks practices.
-
No drinking or other illegal substance use at all while
on road trips, during team events (practice etc.), or on game
days. There is zero tolerance and no exceptions, not even for
players over 21, coaches, or trainers.
-
During all team events it is required to practice
considerate, appropriate, and gentlemanly behavior reflecting positively
on the University of Oregon.
-
Dress shirts, ties, and no jeans are mandatory to ALL
games and during all travel. When traveling by state fifteen
passenger vans players may wear there issued warm-up suits, but must
change back into the ties at the hotel. This rule is strictly
enforced, not wearing appropriate attire will result in watching the
game from the stands- not exceptions.
-
Players must arrive at the rink for practice and games
on time. Failure to do so will result in game or period
suspensions. Don't be even a minute late.
-
There are no valid excuses for missing practice unless a
phone call with good reason was made to the coach prior to that
practice. This includes all dry-land training, team meetings, and
pre-game preparations.
-
There will be no late additions to the roster.
Players must be present at the try-out/training camp to be eligible to
play. Transfer students have a chance to try out for the team
during the first week of winter term at the discretion of the
coach. By rule rosters must be submitted to the Pac-8 at the
beginning of each term.
-
Full gear is mandatory at all times. This includes
full face shields. Players will not be permitted on the ice
otherwise. Every player must provide his own gear, including a
black helmet.
-
Each forward is required to be able to run 400m in under
65 seconds, each defenseman must break 70 seconds. Players who
cannot make this requirement will not be allowed to dress for any game.
This is not a complete list, players will be made aware of other rules at the
beginning of the season. If you are a potential University of Oregon
athlete and do not feel that you can follow any of these rules please do not
waste your time or ours at try-outs. This is a serious and competitive
hockey team, if you are looking for a relaxed environment with less commitment
please contact Lane County Ice Arena [(541)-682-7329] and join one of their
men's recreational hockey leagues.
