Many pre-health students choose this location as a place to volunteer due to its close proximity to campus. Students have the ability to volunteer in different departments at this facility. For example, an individual can choose to volunteer in the ER for 4 hours a week.

Organization: Mckenzie- Willamete Medical Center
Many volunteers help patients and staff by doing activities such as staffing the gift shop, delivering flowers and mail to patients, and providing receptionist services at both the G Street and ER lobbies.

Organization: Volunteers in Medicine
Many residents of Lane County do not have health insurance. The goal of Volunteers in Medicine is to compliment and collaborate with other medical facilities, to provide health care to all who lack resources. Very flexible schedule. You can shadow or you can volunteer! Orientations are on the first and third Wednesday of every month. This is a great organization to get a letter of recommendation to medical school from. Organization: White Bird Medical Clinic
White Bird Clinic is a non-profit human service agency serving the people of Lane County for over 30 years. They have developed a broad range of services and respond to over 60,000 service requests annually.

Becoming a peer health educator results in a stimulating internship experience. As a peer health educator, you will learn about public health issues that face the world and campus population.

Organization: HIV Alliance
Supporting individuals living with HIV/AIDS and preventing new HIV infections. You can volunteer for multiple terms. Orientation for volunteer opportunities is a total of 8 hours over the course of a few days. They also need Hepatitis C and HIV Counselors. You must be able to attend 2.5 days of training. You will get a license from the CDC from the state of Oregon.
