10/20/09 Chris Traver (Peace Health): there will be an opportunity to watch a surgery as it is taking place. This will happen sometime in November, stay posted. The Preceptorship position requires a TB test, you can get one ahead of time at the Health Center on campus. DeLeesa Meashintubby (VIM) needs volunteers! They want to help find a spot that fits your interest. Look on “Opportunities” to get more information. Bryon Snapp (HIV Alliance): needs volunteers! They have some great opportunities. 11/3/09 A representative from the Student Health Center provided a presentation regarding the different opportunities that the Health Center has to offer. The peer health internship is now accepting applications. Go to the SHC website for more information.
Allen Heaman came and shared his personal experience of being a family medicine– primary care doctor. He shared advice with us regarding going to medical school, and why he became a doctor. |

11/17/09 We had two fourth year OHSU medical students come and talk to us about the process of getting into medical school and the life that they live. We were able to ask questions and get them answered. We were told their “grossest thing they had ever seen” story. |
