Optional Positions

Public Relations
  • Promote awareness of Psi Chi (both the national organization and the local chapter) to the campus community and the community at large.
  • Publicize all Psi Chi events, programs, and activities.
  • Distribute monthly calendars to members (or similar schedule of activities).
  • Establish and maintain good relations with campus media.
  • Submit newsworthy items about chapter or individual members to campus and community media (and also to National Office for Eye on Psi Chi).
  • Solicit news items from members.

Membership Chair
  • Organize membership drives.
  • Ensure that all student information is gathered and processed properly to determine eligibility for membership.
  • Ensure that all registration materials are completed and sent with fees to the National Office at least three weeks prior to induction.
  • Help plan induction ceremonies, preferably at least two each year.

Program Chair
  • Speakers/Symposia/Colloquia/Workshops/Field Trips
  • Service Projects/Philanthropies/Tutoring/Advising
  • Fundraising
  • Social

Alumni Liaison
  • Serve as liaison with area and chapter alumni.
  • Establish and maintain a mailing list of chapter alumni.
  • Use mailing list to keep alumni informed of chapter activities.
  • Incorporate alumni into current chapter programs as speakers, workshop leaders.
  • Send copies of alumni records to National Office.

Historian
  • Compile chapter history as it is made.
  • See that photographs are taken at Psi Chi events.
  • Collect clippings and important correspondence.
  • Prepare scrapbook detailing events of the year.
  • Promote awareness of anniversaries and past events and successes.
  • Ensure that the chapter's historical records are properly preserved.
