CUSP Science Technician - Winter Over, South Pole Antarctic Support Associates, Englewood, Colorado 80112 August 1995-Present - Served as a technical monitor of CUSP scientific projects. - Calibrated and serviced USGS seismic instruments. - Maintained & serviced lab data acquisition units & computers. - Diagnosed & fixed failed scientific equipment. - Calibrated & serviced recording equipment as scheduled. - Conducted tours & briefings of CUSP lab, seismic sites and general science projects. - Maintained Unix computer & WWW server. Creation and Development: - Designed and machined components for the 21 inch & 32 inch telescopes at Pine mountan (The University of Oregon's observatory). - Fabricated parts and machined changes in the 21 inch telescope's photometer for use in solar flare prediction project. - Modified PAL video camera to be used as a Natural Fluorescence Photometer. - Assistant researcher in solar flare prediction project.
