Submission Guidelines

Oregon Advocate

A publication of the University of Oregon Future Lawyers Association



Are you an undergraduate? Are you interested in becoming a lawyer? Just love the law? Looking to get experience in legal writing? Then The Oregon Advocate is for you. Simply write up an article, case note or book review and send it to us. Just follow the steps below and you too could be published.

1. Pick a legal topic that interests you. It could be a legal trend, an area of law, or a particular test and its effect on other cases. You could also examine a specific case before the Court, the guiding precedents, the possible outcome and its effects. You could also write a review of a current book on the law. Just take a look in the archives for examples.

2. Send your submissions to:

(please include a paper copy and a disk, IBM preferred. If you wish to have the disk returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.)

3. Please include your name, biographical information (school, year, major, etc.), and an e-mail address and phone number. If your entry is selected for publication you will be notified and you will receive free copies to distribute to friends and family.

4. All entries will be judged according to the Editorial Guidelines. Even if your entry is not selected for the current issue, it will be filed for possible consideration in future issues. The Oregon Advocate encourages submissions from undergraduates all around the world.
