Welcome
Alpha Phi Omega is a co-ed national service fraternity with active chapters on more than 300 college campuses nation wide. Founded in 1925, Alpha Phi Omega(ΑΦΩ or APO) is the largest college campus-based service organization in the world, with over 250,000 alumni. Although ΑΦΩ started as a fraternity, it is not affiliated with Greek Life, the Inter-Fraternity, or Pan-Hellenic organizations. Students from all areas of the University are invited to participate in ΑΦΩ activities. Founded in 1948 and re-chartered in 1993, the Zeta Psi chapter here at the University of Oregon creates and participates in many service projects around the campus and in the community of Eugene. In addition, we meet regularly for fun and fellowship.
ΑΦΩ is based on 3 cardinal principles: Leadership, Friendship and Service.
So, you’re interested in APO? First, we suggest that you come and meet us! Everyone is welcome at our weekly chapter meetings as well as at most service and fellowship projects. Our chapter meetings are on Wednesdays in McKenzie 129 at 6PM. Check out our Calendar for dates and times of upcoming events.
To become a member of APO, you must go through the “Pledging” process, just like the social (Greek) fraternities. The process is a time of learning and a time where you can get to know our chapter. After that time, you can choose if you want to become a member and if APO is right for you.
